have always been attracted to the special impact of night images and the transformation of perceptions that becomes possible through them. The physical world is revealed to us, in large measure, through light. My interpretation of that world is changed by the selective absence of light. Ordinary objects and recognizable forms take on an ethereal presence. They are no longer attached to a sense of time and place without the visual reassurance of detail and tonality. A hidden view is revealed by the selectivity and altered contrasts of artificial light, subdued skylight, or moon light.
