Viola Johnson
Viola (Tennie) Lee Johnson, 70, of Boston died Sunday, July 3 at Culpeper Health Care Center.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
Mrs. Johnson was bom July 10, 1923, in Culpeper County to the late Moses and Mary Lee.
She marrired John Othell Johnson and from this union, 13 children were bom.
Survivors include four daughters, Delores Wilson, Gloria Ann Johnson and Carolyn Pat Bowles, all of Culpeper and Arlene Jones of Sterling; eight sons, Stacey Johnson of Manassas, James Johnson, Charles Johnson, Melvin Johnson, Robert Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, Bruce Johnson and Brian Johnson, all of Culpeper.
Also surviving are one sister, Affie Washington of Culpeper; six brothers, Moses Lee, Samuel Lee, James Lee, John Lee and William Lee, all of Culpeper and Frank Lee of Philadelphia, Pa.; five daughtersin-law; three sons-in-law; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Good Hope Baptist Church in Norman on Friday, July 8 with the Rev. Hugh R. Wilson pf Culpeper officiating.
Interment was at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Norman.
W.C. Thompson Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
Betty Jolliffe
Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Thurston Jolliffe, 65, of Culpeper died on Thursday, July 7 at her residence. [ She was bom in Culpeper County on July 23,1928.
She was retired from the Federal Reserve after 20 years of service and was a member of the Culpeper Presbyterian Church.
Her parents were the late Frederick C. and Bernice Rosson Thurston.
Survivors include her husband, R.J. Jack Jolliffe of Culpeper; two daughters, Joy J. Bradley of Roanoke and Janice J. Settle of Amissville; one brother, George Lee Thurston of Tallahassee, Fla. and one granddaughter, Erin Bradley Zeamer.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 10 at Culpeper Presbyterian Church with Dr. R. Wayne Bernardo officiating.
