They cite as reasons for adopting a ban “finding that the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice so require, and for the general purpose of promoting the health, safety and general welfare of the public, and to insure:
• “the protection of the environment;
• “the protection of human and animal health including that of wildlife;
• “confidence in the safety of agricultural products produced in Rappahannock County and the continued marketability of such products;
• “the continued viability of agriculture and tourism in the years to come; and
• “the preservation of property values and the marketability of real estate.”
The resolution to adopt a ban under other provisions of state code leaves out reference to “good zoning” and instead inserts references to sections in the Virginia Code.
