This past July Ellie started limping. I though perhaps she had pulled a muscle and took her to the veterinarian. She was diagnosed with cancer. A tumor was nestled in her right shoulder. Treatment would mean Joping off her right leg and taking out her shoulder plus chemo-therapy with a resulting six month life expectancy. 1 couldn’t do that to El so I elected to put her on steriods and painkillers. The combination worked. We went on our daily walks, played our games and “hung out” in the yard in the evenings. She was strong and pain free until the last week in August when she died—mercifully less than a day after the onset of what became in the end debilitating Dain.
