She said perhaps a volunteer coordinator could find a more creative solution to problems on the buses than hiring aides. Parent PaUy Metcalfe said she was also opposed to spending money on putting aides on the buses. “I am upset that children can't conduct themselves so a bus driver can safely drive children to school. Perhaps they could walk,” she said.
Ron Makela said obviously there have to be some cuts in the budget, but the board should consider cuts in physical improvements. “I could live with inferior fencing to add the new positions,” he said.
Bobby Watson said he supported the full-time art position and also the raises for teachers. “There is no doubt the teachers are dedicated, and I would like them to get the increase,”
