Get Real
To the Editor:
Congratulations to all those who participated on the Odyssey of the Mind Team. Your accomplishments, in the face of adversity, were first rate.
It is fortunate that Henry Ford and the Wright Brothers did not attend school in Rappahannock because we would still be walking or riding horses as our only modes of transportation. Wait a minute. Scratch the horses, we might fall off. Walking? Better not take the chance, we might trip.
To our school administrators I can only say; Get Real.
To the Editor:
The “Christian” Coalition has promised a million dollars to promote the Gingrich “Contract with America.” It would be hard to find support in Scripture for cutting the capital gains tax, for anti-missile defenses or for term limits.
The Coalition has every right to function as part of the right wing of the Republican Party, as it does. It has no right to call itself Christian.
The good people who thought they were contributing to a Christian cause have reason to feel cheated.
