private landowners had closed their property to fishing due to the large crowds that appeared on opening da\ and the problems they caused. The Fisheries Division expects some of these streams to be reopened in the future as the opening day rush becomes a thing of the past.

Streams in this area that will be open Saturday are the Rose, Hughes and Robinson rivers in Madison County, all upstream of Route 231.

A three-quarter mile stretch of the Rose River has been set aside on opening day for children 12 and under who otherwise would have to compete with adults along crowded streams. For children no license is needed and there is no charge. This section along Route 670 between Criglersville and Syria and is well marked by signs. Children should bring their own tackle and bait, and adults may accompany but cannot fish.
