The race is sponsored by The Inn at Little Washington and organized by the Rappahannock Recreational Facilities Authority. Pre-registration is $14 if postmarked by April 15 or $17 by 9:30 a.m. morning of race. Last Sunday, Amissville United Methodist Church’s guest speaker was Rev. Robert Donnelly playing the part of Rev. John Wesley as he preached on “Twentieth Century Circuit Riders” and took part in the consecration service. Several people came in period costumes including a Revolutionary War couple. Rev. Nancy B. White, the trustees, and other lay offices took part in a consecration ceremony presenting,, naming and saying prayers for the sanctuary.

Small wooden crosses made by Ronnie Poe from the wood of this building were given to each family. A video on the stages of restoration by L.J. Davis was shown after lunch. The choir sang a medley of old favorites which was specially prepared for this service.
