Performed by Ms. Portman with a music score composed and played by Paul Riesler of Trapezoid, “My Sister’s Sister” completes a trilogy of plays about an idiosyncratic 20th century American family.
Inspired by Ms. Portman’s own family, the first two plays in the series, “Katie Malone” and “How Dad Created The World” have been performed more than 200 times at venues that range from the Festival of Atlanta tQ the French Cultural center in Nairobi, Kenya.
As the final play in the American Family series, “My Sister’s Sister” is a self-portrait that looks across the boundaries of two siblings — their life choices and their imaginings — one sister an artist, the other schizophrenic.
Tickets for the one night only performance are $10. They are available by calling Ki Theatre at 675-1616. Tickets can be purchased locally at Mountainside Market in Washington.
