Training
Hospice of the Rapidan is holding a Volunteer Training Session at its office at Mulberry Commons Office Park in Culpeper.
Interested persons will have the option of either a morning or an evening class beginning Tuesday, March 28 through Thursday, April 13. For three consecutive weeks, people interested in working with Hospice of the Rapidan and their hospice patients will take a three-hour class on Tuesdays and Thursdays to learn about hospice, the role it plays, and how volunteers help take care of patients and their families.
On Saturday, April 1, there will be a class comprised of both groups to study bereavement and how they can play a role in the process.
The training sessions have been divided into two sessions a day, this arrangement should accommodate everyone’s interest and schedule. Please call the Hospice of the Rapidan office to sign up for either the morning or the evening sessions. Morning sessions are from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and the evening sessions are from 6-9 p.m., every Tuesday and Thursday. The Saturday bereavement class, conducted by bereavement counselor Dick Guizar, will begin at 9 a.m. and last until 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
Call the Hospice of the Rapidan office at 825-4840 to reserve your spot. Hospice volunteers are a very important part of what Hospice does. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Hospice team, or current volunteers who would like to take a refresher course, can join this training March 28. Sign up as soon as possible!
