Calling all young naturalists aged 7 to 12!
The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection is launching its eighth season of Natural History Daycamp. We are looking for youngsters eager to learn about the birds, bugs, plants, amphibians, reptiles and mammals around them.
We’ll also sing our favorite camp songs and cheers, work on nature crafts, have visiting guests from the Wildlife Center of Virginia, the Benedict Estuary Lab and take several interesting field trips.
This year we are very pleased to offer a One-week second session of camp for the older camper and adults aged 10 and up. Although the teaching will be geared for the children, older folks may find these courses of interest. The three courses are Mountain Ecology, The Artist as Naturalist and Salamanders and Other Amphibians. Participants may chose in advance the courses they wish to take.
Camp will again be directed by Robin Purnell, local artist and naturalist. Robin worked for and co-direcled nature camps for the Massachusetts Audubon Society for many years.
