Twelve lucky kids will be going on a shopping spree this Saturday as part of the "Shop With a Deputy" program put on by the Rappahannock County Sheriffs Office.
Major Rick MacWelch of the Sheriffs Office said that the program is designed to assist families in need. The 12 children, all chosen from the Rappahannock County Elementary School, will be picked up at home on Saturday morning and taken to the KMart in Warrenton to be paired up with a Rappahannock deputy for shopping. K-Mart is the national sponsor of the "Shop with a Cop" program. This year is the first year for this program locally.
