With the holiday season upon us, it is our goal to make Christmas a very special time for children who may not be quite as fortunate as others. Though the initial goal was to take five children shopping, said Major MacWelch, donations exceeded expectations and there is enough to take 12 children shopping. 'The goal is to get. these children necessities first, whether it be a coat, hat, and gloves, and have enough left over to buy some toys," said Major MacWelch.
K-Mart is offering a 33 percent discount, which will allow each child to spend more than the allotted $100. After shopping, the kids will all be treated to a breakfast with Santa sponsored by the Western Sizzlin in Warrenton, where they will be given presents by Santa.
