Amissville Fire and Rescue Company elected their officers for 1997 at the Dec. 4 meeting held at the firehouse.
Serving for the coming year will be President Jack Atkins; VicePresident Art Candenquist: Sec'retary Sheila Smith; Treasurer Sandi Carter; and elected to the Board of Directors is Bobby Carter.
Operational officers for 1997 include Fire Chief J.B. Carter, Jr.; Assistant Chief Scott Chamberlin; «Captain Wayne Dodson; Lieutenant Al Kellert; EMS Assistant Chief Sharon Scott; EMS Captain Sheila Scott; EMS Lieutenant R.M. Hosna IV.
The members of the Amissville Fire and Rescue Company urges community residents to include fire safety - in their holiday plans and wishes everyone a happy, healthy and safe holiday season. The emergency crews also thank the community for their ‘ support in 1996.
The Community Christmas Food a Drive is underway. Collection boxes - for non-perishable goods will be located at Early’s Carpet, Hackley’s Store, Lom-Bar-Dy’s, and Mayhugh’s Store as well as the community churches.
