In Rappahannock County Circuit Court last Thursday, 42-year-old Samuel D. Berry of Culpeper was ordered to jail for violating the terms of his probation.
Judge W. Shore Robertson told Mr. Berry that the court had no choice but to find him in violation. "He has violated and it is the duty of fhe court to impose sentence at this time," said Judge Robertson. ‘
According to testimony from Mr. Berry's probation officer Daniel Karkos, Mr. Berry had admitted to him that he had consumed alcohol, which is a violation of his probation. Also, he said, Mr. Berry had walked into a group meeting at Family Guidance in Culpeper with a beer in his hand, and was intoxicated. He has since been banned from the group.
