Wayland Named Executive Editor Barbara C. Wayland has been named Executive Editor and General Manager of the Rappahannock News effective immedi' ately by Times Community Newspapers Publisher, Arthur W. Anindel. Mrs. Wayland has been with the News in various capacities for over 18 years and will continue with administrative responsibilities and advertising duties as well as oversee day to day news room operations. Said Rappahannock News Executive Vice . President John Toler, "I am pleased that * Barbara Wayland has accepted this new position. With her life-long ties to Rappahannock, accessibility to readers, and commitment to perfecting all aspects of community journalism, I predict great things for the newspaper." Mrs. Wayland resides near Sperryville with her husband, Billy and their four year old daughter, Tiffany.
Make Up Days Next Monday, Jan. 20, originally scheduled as a school holiday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as well as Thursday, Jan 16, originally set aside for parent-teacher conferences, and Friday, Jan 17, originally a teacher in-service day, have all become school days in order to make up for days missed because of weather.
