Membership Meeting Planned

RAWL annual membership meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 23 at the Rappahannock Library. The public is invited to attend. Election of the 1997 Board of Directors will be held and light refreshments will be served.

Classes Underway

Shorin-Ryv Okinawan Karate classes are currently underway on Wednesdays at Ki Theatre on Gay Street in Washington. Junior classes will be held 4 to 5:30 p.m. and women and senior citizens from 5:30 to 7 p.m. For more information call Arthur Drago, 5th Dan at 635-7554 or Betsy Toth, 2nd Dan at 349-0632. You may join the class at anytime.

Celebration Planned

They might be running from their shadows in other places but in Rappahannock County “Groundhogs Just Wanna Dance" will be the celebration at 8 p.m. on Feb. 1 at the Community Center. Friends of Gaia will present an encore of the psyche circus. Also returning will be Linda Ramer’s Gaia Ramma Jamma and new work from Kim Doyle and her students. There will be an admission charge of $5.

Classes, Workshops Scheduled

The Rappahannock County Public Schools will offer adult education classes and workshops beginning Feb. 3, 1997. A partial list of classes and workshops includes Computer Basics, Ballroom Dancing, Line Dancing and Texas Two Step, Photography, Drawing/Painting, Quilting, Basic Life Skills, CPR, and HTML Computer Language. Copies of the brochure are available at the following locations: Rappahannock County School Board Office, the Elementary School’s Main Office, the High School’s Main Office, and the Rappahannock Library.
