County Methodist Services The United Methodist Churches will have worship services for Sunday, Jan. 19 as follows: Flint Hill at 8:45 a.m., Sperryville at 11:15 a.m. and Willis Chapel at 10 a.m. The Rev. Merlin Shorb is pastor and invites the public.
Group To Meet Havura Ktana, a friendship group of Jews and those who would like to learn about Judaism, will be meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19 at the Rappahannock Library located on U.S. 211 near Washington. The subject of the meeting will be recent visits to Israel by two Havura members. Bob Weinberg will talk about his participation in th6 American Jewish Congress delegation that went to Israel in Spring 1996, where they met Prime Minister Perez, PLO Chairman Arafat, and United States ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk, to learn about the peace process. Paula Rabkin will continue the informal talk she began at the May 1996 meeting, about her trip to Israel in Summer 1995 to attend a friend’s son’s bar mitzvah on a kibbutz.
