Mary Slaughter

Mary Ashby Slaughter, 88, died on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at her residence in Alexandria.

She was bom in Rappahannock County.

She is survived by three nieces, Mary S. Collins, Anne S. McWhorter and Sue S. Howie and one nephew, Dr. Kenneth R. Simpson, Jr.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle.

Tracy Holmes

Tracy D. Holmes, 31, of Culpeper, died-on Sunday, Jan. 5 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Hillsboro, Loudoun County on June 28, 1965.

She was employed as a cook at the Aberdeen Bam in Culpeper.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene H. Homes Sr. of Culpeper; one. son, Eugene H. Holmes Jr.; her parents, Drew and Bernadette Gaskins of Hillsboro; two brothers, Wayde Gaskins of Hillsboro and William Gaskins of Front Royal; one sister, Angelque Gaskins of Hillsboro; her grandmother, Louise Lassiter of Leesburg; one godson, Jarvis Hutchinson of Culpeper and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear and devoted friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 10 at Joynes Funeral Home Inc. in Warrepton with the Rev. Hugh R. Wilson officiating. Interment was at Rock Hill Cemetery in Bluemont.
