William Hawkins
William Franklin Hawkins, 72, of Luray, died on Friday, Jan. 3 at Page Memorial Hospital.
He was bom on Dec. 4, 1924, in Rock Mills, Va„ and was a son of Sallie Nauman Hawkins of Culpeper and the late Raymond Franklin Hawkins.
Mr. Hawkins was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Luray Christian Church.
He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 621 and Local Union 669 for 29 years. He had been employed at Grinnell Automatic Sprinkler for 29 years.
On June 3, 1949, he married the former Rita Short, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are three brothers, the Rev. Paul D. Hawkins of Virginia Beach, Pastor Edward L. Hawkins of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Marvin Lewis Hawkins of Culpeper and on^ sister, Thelma R. Hawkins of Culpeper.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, Jan. 6 at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. John J. Koehler. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery in Luray.
Mary Fincham
Mary Blanche Fincham, 78, of Sperryville, formerly of Slate Mills, died on Sunday, Jan. 12 at the Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Madison County on March 13, 1918.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rannie Fincham; her mother, Blanche Richards Fincham and her husband, Raymond Fincham.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Fincham and Arlene Cave and a son-in-law, Glenn Cave, all of Sperryville; a brother, John H. Fincham of Culpeper; a sister, Virgie Stultz of Culpeper; a granddaughter, Tony Cave of Newport News and a number of nieces and nephews.
Sh^ was predeceased in death by three sisters, Dolly Lamb, Annie Ruth Fincham and Eva Snyder.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 11 a.m.
Interment was in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. John K. Burke
