Greene’s shop is a cornucopia of jewelry, crafts, art ranging from $15 on up, and Native American and PreColombian pieces. The display features such items as a Nez Perce beaded flat bag which was made by the mother of Chief Black Eagle and later given to Chief McConville’s wife who was living at Lapwai, Idaho. Circa 1895, it is for sale at $4,200. The shops are located at 261 Main Street. /
Just down “the row” from them is the Morency Gallery featuring the work of Peter Garon, who also has a shop in Warrenton. Garon’s work is bright, modern and visually interesting. He has also included the work of several other '! artists in the gallery.
Garon said he will be work- J ing here as much as possible ■& -and wants to do more painted a dimensional pieces. The gallery * ’is located at 291 Main Street.
Tanya Richey, who is very | well known in the county as well as elsewhere, just bought the building at 332 Main Street. She not only moved he£ business in, she now lives upstairs and moved her house-’ hold at the same time she was! preparing to open her gallery.
She will also have a studio in the basement of the building and said she is looking forward to being able to work, run her shop and be close to home at the same time. Her gallery features the paintings and waters colors, for which she is so well known, along with many other items of interest.
Christopher Goodine’s distinctive gold and silver jewelry is located at 417 Main Street as it has been since 1984.
Goodine works his intricate wavelink designs into patterns named for the local, such as the Rappahannock, the Appalachian and the Cross Current. He is happy to have some additional company oh the street and hopes it will stimulate business.
