For much of the summer, local musicians have been heard rehearsing their favorite times in preparation for the second annual Rappahannock Music Festival. Last year, despite the unseasonably cold weather, the festival was a big hit for musicians and audience alike.
With 24 acts in the line-up, twice as many as last year, expectations are high for this year’s weekend-long local music festival. It will be held Oct. 3-5 coinciding with Sperryville’8 Apple Harvest Festival, Oct. 4 and 5.
The free festival is sponsored mainly by the musicians themselves with other valuable services donated by non-performing music lovers and neighboring businesses. Most performances will be held on Wiliam Jackson and Carolyn Harrison’s stage in the lot beside Mountainside Market. Parking will be free, courtesy of Oldway Arts Center, and Mountainside Market. (Please do not park on the highway!)
The festival will get started Friday night, Oct. 3 with performances by Beth Levick’s The Ecclectics and the Rappahannock Quintet. Then a gang of musicians from Nethers will rock everyone into dancing. Friday’s finale will
