The second annual Rappahannock Music Festival will be held on the stage in the lot next to Mountainside Market in Sperryville on Oct. 3, 4 and 5. The concert and parking is free. Friday night’s performance will begin at 7 p.m. and will include four different groups with the last band promising to deliver good dance tunes! Education group to meet

Due to a scheduling conflict, the date of the First Thursday Education Support Group meeting has been changed from Thursday, Oct. 2 to Tuesday, Oct. 7. The meeting will be held at the Rappahannock Extension Office at 7 p.m. Paul Aiscolla, candidate for Virginia House of Delegates, will address the meeting on the future of education and the upcoming election. Potluck dinner scheduled

The Mother’s Coop and children’s playgroup will host their annual Fall potluck dinner at the Rappahannock Park on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. Families and friends welcome and encouraged. St. Peter's invitation

St. Peter’s Catholic Mission invites everyone to join in participating in Life Chain Sunday, Oct. 5 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Pro-lifers, Christians, and their clergy will line a major road in Manassas, all silently praying and holding uniform pro-life signs. Life Chain is a lawful gathering of pro-lifers in over 100 cities across the U.S. for hearts to be changed and lives saved. Won’t you join St. Peter’s in this peaceful and prayerful witness against abortion? Car pooling to Manassas starts at 1:30 p.m. in St. Peter’s parking lot.

4-H Achievement Night set

The Rappahannock 4-H Achievement Night program will be held at the Rappahannock County Elementary School cafeteria on Friday, Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m. starting with a pot luck dinner. The 4-H Achievement program recognizes 4-Her’s for their accomplishments throughout the past year. Support group to meet

The Blue Ridge Brain Injury Support group will meet at a member’s home in Culpeper from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4. Sharyn Nicholson from Rappahannock Healing Arts will be the speaker. For information, transportation, directions or support call Pat Salmon at 675-3137.

Healing Arts activities

Weekly life enrichment series will continue Oct. 9 with Learn Simple Herbal Remedies to help prevent winter colds and flue by Kathleen Maier, PA, AGH from 7 to 9 p.m.

A workshop, The Sacredness of Touch will be held Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. by Sharyn Nicholson and Karen Loving.

Yoga classes underway on Monday evenings from 7 to 8:30. Lilo Foster is the instructor, call 675-3584 for info.

Sharyn Nicholson and experienced practitioners will offer short, gentle therapeutic sessions for kids, the first Tuesday of every month, beginning Oct. 7 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. All events will be held at Rappahannock Healing Arts Center and information may be obtained by 987-7204.
