Ragged Mountain activities

Oct. 11, hike to Headwater of the Rappahannock River with Ragged Mountain Resource Center, meet at Mountainside Market at 9 a.m., return by mid-afternoon.

Oct. 12, “From the Blue Ridge to the Bay — Everything Connects with Water” benefit concert for Water Education programs in Rappahannock at Oldway Art Center in Sperryville from 2 p.m. until dark.

On Oct. 16, Full moon hike of Old Rag Mountain and on Oct. 18 Rappahannock Water Monitoring Network meeting at the Extension Office from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.

Oct. 24, slide show/discussion on Pfiesteria piscicida microbe with Richard Lacouture at the Rappahannock Library at 7 p.m. For information call 987-3366.

Playgroup to resume

Country Kids Playgroup will resume on Thursday, Oct. 2 at the JefTersonton Community Center. New families are welcome to join. The playgroup is a non profit group for parents or caregivers and children ages infant to five. It meets every Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon. Toys are provided. Crafts and activities are planned. Optional field trips are also planned. Minimum dues are collected to defray cost of rent.
