Finally, if by any chance she’s feeling flush, she could end with a flourish by buying each writer a copy of Strunk and White’s essential book, “The Elements of Style.” I assure you, all of us readers would be grateful.
I hasten to add that I do not include John Trott as one of those who needs assistance in the English language. Trott’s delightful nature column, “All Things Wild and Wonderful,” is written with great felicity and we are lucky to have his expertise about the world of nature, a subject close to the hearts of so many of us here in Rappahannock County.
