On Saturday, Nov. 15 the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community will present local musicians Lorraine Duisit and Tom Espinola in concert at 8 p.m. at the Theatre at Washington on Gay Street.
Duisit and Espinda are well known to local audiences for their original music which, according to a recent review in The Washington Post, “sneaks up out of old traditions and surprises you with new twists.”
The concert will include music from the couple’s recent release, Which Way Waltz, featuring a family of mandolins, Troubadour harp, guitar, percussion and of course Duisit’s unique voice, which has been described as “pleading and detached, winsome and wise.”
The pieces from this latest recording are based on the model of traditional dance music which pays a debt of gratitude to Espinola’s native Southern upbringing.
