Rappahannock County High School’s Cross Country Team traveled to Towe Park in Charlottesville last week to compete in the Region B Cross Country meet.
The team took fifth place in the region out of 14 schools that competed. But only the top four school teams advance to the state level.
Rappahannock Cross Country Coach Dave van de Graaff said he was very proud of all the athletes and felt they had done a tremendous job this year.
He said he also felt the teams would have probably taken fourth and qualified for state if they hadn’t lost some teams members earlier in the season. But he noted the team is young and that bodes well for their chances during the next several years.
The top 15 individuals will go on to compete at the state level.
