In recent issues the Rappahannock News has been covering the movement of Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation. This is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, taxexempt organization established by local volunteers for the purpose of strengthening our county’s public schools.

It is completely independent of the school administration and is not a source of funds to replace tax revenues. Under director Linda Dietel, Headwaters works with the county teachers and supporters to provide students educational opportunities that might not otherwise be available. As a lifetime resident of Rappahannock and a graduate of Rappahannock public schools, I see the need and good this program can do for our students. '
