Estate planning scheduled
The Rappahannock Farmers Association will sponsor an estate planning seminar on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock High School. The program will focus on scenic easements. For more information call 675-3444.
Performances scheduled
Workspace for Choreographers will present the LastMinute Wood Company in the premiere performances of two new works by Sally Nash, “20 words for Snow” and “Savory” on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m. The performances will take place at Workspace for Choreographers in Sperryville. Essay contest underway
The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR is sponsoring an essay contest for students in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades. This year’s topic is “Forts in American History”. Any fort built before 1890 on land now part of the United States may be an essay topic. Rules of the contest have been sent to all county schools. Cash prizes will be awarded to winning essays in each grade level. Essays must be submitted by Dec. 1. For more information contact your school or Sarah Cheatwood at 347-2872.
Computer Club Forming
Anyone between the ages of 9-19 years old interested in joining the 4-H Computer Club should call the Extension Office at 675-3619. The 4-H Computer Club will learn how to make a web page. Meeting dates will bedetermined.
Reiki 1 Class planned
Learn the ancient healing art of Reiki in a class Nov. 22-23 in Washington. The teacher April Martin maintains a Reiki practice in Washington, Va. and Washington, D.C. She received Reiki I, II and III from Reiki Masters trained in and dedicated to the Usui System of Natural Healing. She is also a retreat leader, spiritual director, artist, feng shui practioner and creator of prayer-inspired jewelry. The class will be held at her home in Washington, directions will be provided to those who wish to attend. The class will ' be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 22 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 23. For additional information or to register call 675-1747.

The Ragged Mountain Resource Center located at Oldway Art Center in Sperryville has the following activities scheduled:

Alumni basketball tournament set
The Rappahannock County High School Athletic Department will sponsor the ninth annual Alumni Basketball Tournament on Friday, Nov. 28 and Saturday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Any male or female who graduated from RCHS and is interested in playing in the tournament should contact Kelly Settle at 987-8575 by Monday, Nov. 17.
Support group to meet
The Blueridge Brain Ipjury Support Group will meet Saturday, Nov. 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the parish hall of Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. Darlene Payne from Brain Ipjury Services at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville will be the speaker. All survivors, family and friends are welcome to attend.
