The recruiting efforts of Assistant Superintendent Mary Ann Biggs and staff have again borne fruit. A great j crop of new teachers and aides has been drawn from inside and out of the county, and they're all ready and anxious to begin. The teaming of these new teachers with our returning professionals should serve our children and our community well.
At the Elementary School, Ren Dietel and Michael Stout will share the teaching of sixth grade social studies. This team comes to us from Seattle, where they taught at the Bush School. Dietel's aim is to promote lifelong learning, while Stout's teaching philosophy is to "work hard, have fun and keep things interesting."
Becky Ernest says that she's excited about her new kindergarten teaching assignment. She loves camping, especially with her boys, and should have no problem finding new camping spots in Rappahannock. Her favorite book: When I Am An Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple.
Mary Ann Frazier, a Rappahannock native, "loves it here" and will work in the school system as a preschool aide.
Kindergarten aide, Michele Herbert, believes "that every child is important and deserves as much attention as possible with constant praise and love." Her favorite activities include being with her husband and three children, teaching a missions class and helping with her
