She entered Independence Court in Hyattsville, Md. on June 3, 1999. An active member of the First Baptist Church of Hyattsville, Md., she is a 50 plus year member of the Eastern Star. She worked as clerk, manager and owner of the Ladies Exchange (domestic) Employment Bureau from 1922 until its closing in 1976 at which time she went to work as a consultant to 'Over Sixty' employment service in Montgomery County until the commute became too difficult and she retired at the age of 86. She also enjoyed gardening.
She was among the 75 of the more than 2,300 centenarians in the State of Maryland which attended the Eighth Annual Recognition Luncheon in their honor at Martin's West in Baltimore, Md. on May 11, 2000.
