66, of Rixeyville died Sunday, Aug. 27 at his residence.

He was born March 11, 1934 in West Virginia to the late Jasper Lee Thompson Sr. and Flora Winn Thompson.

He was a member of Jefferson ton Baptist Church and served in the United States Marine Corp.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mabel Thompson of Rixeyville and seven children, Freddy Thompson Sr. of Flint Hill, Sadie Mullins of Culpeper, Eugene Thompson and Nadine Jackson, both of Front Royal, Paula Thompson of Warrenton, Robert Thompson of Delaplane and Crystal Sparks of Rixeyville.

Additional survivors include three brothers, Robert Winn of Las Vegas, Nev., Paul Winn of Cleveland, Ohio and Preston Thompson of North Carolina and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at Jeffersonton Baptist Church with Pastor Marshall W. Braylo officiating.

Pallbearers were two sons, Freddy Thompson and Eugene Thompson; one brother, Preston Thompson; two grandsons, Eugene Thompson Jr. and Michael Thompson and a son-in-law, Richard Mullins.

Honors were provided by the Culpeper American Legion Post #330 and the V.F.W. Post #2524.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Mrs. Mabel Thompson, 15251 Ryland Chapel Road, Rixeyville, Va. 22737.

Found and Sons Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
