aren't very impressive. There is no plan — no neat rows — and I suppose, it looks as wild as I can make it.
Tomatoes are essential to my summer eating. Red fruits that have been nourished by the hot summer sun of July and August have a distinctive taste hard to describe. For this reason, there are more tomato plants than anything else. They have grown to great heights due to all the rain. Many are much taller than I, and their foliage has grown up to mingle their greenness with the pear tree around which they grow.
Most of the tomatoes are still green; not enough sun is the cause, I am told. I check them each morning, searching for rosiness.
