Mr. Floyd Stilley (Letters, Aug. 23) adequately described
how the state of Texas has suffered at the hands of its government, which has been controlled by the Democratic Party since the time of reconstruction.
Like Virginia, it took Texans 100 years to elect a Republican governor, and they didn't have a Republican majority in their Senate until four years ago. Sadly, the Democrats' hold on the state House is still unbroken. Let's hope Texas follows Virginia's example and runs these rascals out, too.
