The Promise Land Baptist Church of Washington is planning a series of events to commemorate its 100th anniversary in September.
A banquet will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 5 p.m. at the Washington Fire Hall.
Rev. Cornell Brooks of Woodbridge will be the guest speaker. Rev. Brooks was a 1999 candidate for the 10th Congressional District. He is a public interest attorney and a fourth generation ordained minister, and is Associate minister of l\irner AME Church in Washington, D.C.
The Echoes of Faith of Front Royal will be singing and Latoya and Clarice Frye will be doing the praise dance. Tickets are $12 for this event. The last day to get your tickets) will be the Sept. 4.
Five nights of revival services will be conducted from Monday, Sept. 18 through Friday, Sept. 22 nightly at 7:30. On Friday night there will be a memorial service.
