At a called meeting of the School Board on June 21 Superintendent Dr. David Gangel presented his proposed plan of reorganization that “provides resources for future academic successes and preserves successful gains of the past.”
According to Dr. Gangel, the implementation of the reorganization plan will benefit the school system by: providing necessary leadership; using the strengths of existing leadership personnel; providing classroom experience for most administrators; reducing the number of principals from three to two; and avoiding the need for the hiring of additional administrative staff.
The key elements of the plan are . the creation of the positions of Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the Coordinator of Special Education; the redefinition of the responsibilities of the RCHS Principal and Assistant Principal, the RCES Principal, the Superintendent, and the Assistant Superintendent; and the creation of a new part-time RCES Teacher Assistant position.
