County’s teens recognize the need for a place to gather and socialize, and the Black Kettle space will serve perfectly.
According to a Headwaters survey of teens conducted last year at RCHS, the need for a gathering and recreational spot was at the top of the list.
“We’ve been trying to establish a place for teens in Rappahannock for the last six years. Teens need a place to belong, a place to safely express themselves in a variety of ways,” said Ms. Marshall.
“Giving them a space to create, a chance to be able to make something happen for themselves, is an invaluable experience that will be taken into their adult life”, said Ms. Lucking. As teenagers, both Ms. Marshall and Ms. Lucking had that opportunity and know what a difference it can make.
