Colleen Foster, 78, of Front Royal died Sunday, June 24 at her residence.
Mrs. Foster was born Sept. 13, 1923 in Rappahannock County, a daughter of the late Eldora Smoot and Silas Foster.
She was the widow of James Booten Foster, who died on June 2, 1996.
Mrs. Foster was a member of the Massanova Pentecostal Church in Rappahannock. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, James E. Foster of Gaithersburg, Md. and seven daughters, Ruth Ann Burke of Huntly, Maria Woodard of Inlet, Irene Fletcher of Washington, Margaret Settle of Amissville, Rena Mae Atkins of Front Royal, Mildred Riley of Stephenson, Elzora Nicholson of Stanley and Joan Kaye Foster of Front Royal.
Also surviving are three brothers, Julian L. “Buck” Foster of Front Royal, Downing Foster of Myersville, Md. and Jesse Lee Foster of Sperryville; two sisters, Hanna Lee Settle of Kearnesyville, W.Va. and Victoria Jenkins of Front Royal; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 28 at 2 p.m. at the Massanova
