Have a safe Fourth as the nation
celebrates its 225th
Next Wednesday, Rappahannock County will
join the rest of our great nation in celebrating
the 225th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. ; As the holiday approaches, the thoughts of everyone are riveted on enjoying the day, whether at home with family, in the Town of Washington with neighbors and friends or taking to the road to be with dislant relatives and friends. » Regardless of where your travels take you next Wednesday, we urge everyone to use caution and prudence in order to avoid happiness turning unexpectedly to tragedy. Every year, come July 5, the newspapers and broadcast media are filled with reports of deaths and injures caused by careless handling of fireworks, mixing drinking and driving — or boating, and other mishaps. * We join with the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police and the Rappahannock County Fire and Rescue Association in Wishing the county’s residents a happy and safe Fourth of July holiday. All three organizations will be, extremely satisfied to spend a quiet, uneventful holiday.
