Non-voting members are Rosa Crocker (school board representative), Wendy Gillis (student representative), and Linda Tarry (executive director). We meet the second Monday of each month at the county extension office. The public is welcome to attend.

In the coming year, Headwaters looks forward to continuing our work, which is to “foster educational excellence by cultivating the cooperative spirit and resources of the whole community to benefit all students.”

Our goals are many and include: a successful fundraising campaign this fall beginning with the annual Taste of Rappahannock on Sept. 15; participation in the “Tidal Wave of Sound” CD release on Sept. 22; mini-grant awards in October and February; continuing to administer the final phase of the Greve Foundation grant; helping to facilitate the construction of the high school greenhouse; the continuation of our many support activities for school staff; and working with the schools and others in the community in finding creative ways to bring more funding into our schools.

Headwaters feels it has found the right combination to accomplish all these tasks and more. With the continued support of the Rappahannock community and schools, we believe there is no end to what we can accomplish.

If you haven’t joined us yet in support of our public schools, we invite you to contact one of our board members or the Headwaters office, 6751819 to find out how you can help. We need not only financial help, but just as important, volunteers with the time and commitment to make a positive difference in our children’s educational possibilities. Join us today!
