Store will celebrate its first anniversary, and will be open to provide its selection of gourmet comestibles to celebrators.
The Black Bear Gallery in the Clopton House will have its grand opening on the Fourth, and will pull back its doors to present a unique collection of American fine crafts and folk art.
At 11 a.m. there will be a new feature—a wine-tasting tent will be set-up to present local vintages, and Independence Day festival-goers will have an opportunity to try and compare selections from a number of Rappahannock wineries—all in one place.
There will be music aplenty—at 1 “Wisher” goes on stage behind the movie theater and “The Bobby Glasker Band” starts there at 2.
There will be an ongoing jam session at the Courthouse beginning at noon, and all are welcome to bring their instruments and voices and join in. At 5 p.m. “Slim Harrison and His Jug Band” will take over at the Courthouse stage, and they’ll provide square dancing music after 7 on Carrigan’s Hill, and the bluegrass trio of Auldridge, Bennett & Gaudreau will be the evening headliner.
For the kid in all of us—a parade will begin at 4:30 (Bicycle Parade participants line up behind the Courthouse at 4 p.m.). and fireworks wall commence at dark on Carrigan’s Hill to provide a fitting finale to this William M. Carrigan Independence Day Celebration.
