Lions to distribute
chestnut trees
On Saturday April 6 _ beginning at 7 a.m. the Rappahannock Lions Club wiir once again be distributing American Chestnut Trees to the public at the Rappahannock Coop. The Lions Club will request a $2 donation per tree.

Democrats to meet
The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will hold their monthly meeting at the Rappahannock Library on April 2, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Among items to be discussed is a resolution asking that the Virginia Democratic Party seek a qualified candidate to run for the U. S. Senate this fall.
The Democratic Party nominee would oppose Republican Sen. John Warner, the incumbent, in the upcoming 2002 election.

Hunt races set
The annual Old Dominion Hunt races will be held on Saturday, April 6 at Ben Venue. Post time for this Spring tradition is noon.

• Monday, April 1, the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors will meet at 2 and 7 p.m. at the courthouse.
• Tuesday, April 9, the Rappahannock School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the RCHS Band Room.
• Wednesday, April 10, the Washington Town Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Washington Town Hall.
