Bv Susan Jones Special to the Rappahannock News The March meeting of the Rappahannock County Garden Club was an inspiration to all those present. Club member Celine Siira presented several floral arrangements to illustrate the “Dimensions of New Designs" possible in current design competition among club members and with members in other clubs. She created a wide variety of designs incorporating flowers and “found" objects from her home such as a baking pan and a camel bell. She used a melange of containers — vases, bottles, cups and saucers, and wine glasses. To supplement, she chose dried grasses, petrified wood, ivy, and other greenery. An oatmeal box and a can, both covered with white paper, served to elevate portions of one of the designs. Other designs were enhanced with structural elements made from hardware store stock items of metal or plastic sprayed black. Each design had its own colored backdrop behind it.
