Rickey Lee Shell Sr., 54, of Front Royal died on Tuesday, March 19 at Winchester Medical Center.
Funeral services were conducted March 22 at the New Hope Bible Church in Front Royal with Pastor Terry Keaton officiating. Interment followed in the Cedar Creek Christian Church Cemetery in Zepp.
Mr. Shell was born Jan. 14, 1948 in Star Tannery, son of the late Gordon and Helen Williams Shell.
He was employed by William A. Hazel Inc. for 25 years. He married Betty Lou Windle on Feb. 6, 1966. Mr. Shell was a member of the New' Hope Bible Church in Front Royal.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters. Penny Digges and her husband, Shawn of Chester Gap; and Dena Rae Shell at home; his son, Rickey Lee Shell Jr., of the home; and a special niece, Joyce Bowley Riley and her husband, Roger of Front Royal.
Additional survivors include his brother, Donnie Lee Shell Sr. of Winchester; three sisters, Shirley Hamman of Woodstock, Eleanor Huff of Edinburg and Judy Derflinger of Alexandria and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Vickie Arlene Shell; five brothers and a sister.
