Carnival comes
to Amissville
The Amissville firemen’s carnival will begin tonight, June 26 and continue through June 29. The parade will be held on Thursday evening beginning at 7. The crowning of the queen will take place on Friday and the grand prizes awarded on Saturday evening.
West Virginia Amusements Company is providing the midway and there are rides, games, concessions and shows for the entire family.

The Sperryville Cemetery Ad Hoc Maintenance Committee invites everyone to join them on Saturday, June 29 beginning at 8 a.m. for a general cleanup day at the Sperryville Cemetery.
Bring whatever tools you have that may be of use in cleanup and trash removal, trimming grass around headstones and markers, pruning shrubs and trees, etc. Cold drinks and snacks provided.
McCarthy to speak
at July 15 meeting
County Administrator John McCarthy will report on his testimony to the Bolling Commission and discuss the Virginia General Assembly’s pending legislation of sewage sludge at the next Rappahannock League Environmental Protection meeting on July 15. The meeting will be held at the Rappahannock Library beginning at 7:30 p.m. The RLEP Board of Directors will conduct a general business meeting following this discussion.
