Most people see her running Fauquier County’s Chamber of Commerce, but Karen Henderson has a secret gift.
For most of her adult life she has been using her voice, not to dictate policies, but to entertain music lovers.
“I have been a singer for over 30 years,” Henderson said. “I would say most of my career I have been performing.”
Her partial list of clients comes in at about 49 and includes the likes of the Smithsonian, National Space Club, Hay-Adaihs Hotel, Four Season’s Hotel, Charlies of Georgetown, Blues Alley, Cellar Door, NASA, National Theater and Faberge.
On June 30, Henderson will be at one of the ultimate venues, the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage.
This not the first time the vocalist has performed at Washington’s premiere center for the arts.
