Do you want to know what is on your child’s mind? Your little ones will tell you everything you could possibly want to know; the older ones... maybe or maybe not... depending on the day and the mood. What to do? As parents, we need to know.
Try relaxing activities with your son or daughter. Perhaps concerns will surface naturally while walking in the park or driving through the countryside. Relaxing and happy times can encourage the flow of unguarded conversation. Try to have meals together as a family as often as possible. Truly, as children become teenagers and want to participate in more activities, it can be a feat, but this is the most important time for us to take charge of balancing all of their needs.
For our youngsters to best meet their needs as adults, we must make it a top priority for them to come to know God as their Heavenly Father, for when we cannot be with them, He will. Take a walk this Sabbath with your children to your local church or synagogue God will be with you and yours.
