Though much more planning has yet to be done and more people are signing-on every day, the celebration, so far, will include games that we all used to play on the Fourth—like horseshoes and volleyball—and grills for cooking up your own burgers and hot dogs, as well as drinks and ice cream for sale, live music, and a bonfire at dusk. There will also be an apple pie contest, so revelers-to-be are encouraged to spend some time in the kitchen before heading out to the Copper Fox.
For music, The Old Rag Blues Band will be there, John L. May and friends will be picking some country, Rhythm Method will be rocking and rolling, and other local talent might well sign on. Anyone with a guitar, banjo or washtub is invited to join in too.
The Copper Fox site on River Lane is large enough to accommodate half the County’s residents and most of its cattle, so drive on in on the Fourth.
