PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR Clarke County Virginia a progressive rural suburb in North Western Virginia w/ a population of approx. 13,500 is seeking a Director to oversee the development, mgmt and operation of the Clarke Co. Parks and Recreation Dept. The dept, manages the 102 acre Community Park which incls. a year round recreation center, athletic fields, outdoor swimming pool, picnic shelters, playgrounds and trail. The dept, provides a diverse selection of programs and services to over 100,000 people annually. Qualified candidates would possess knowledge and skills in park development that would incl. funding acquisition and a thorough knowledge of all phases of community activities. Bachelors degree in Recreation and Park administration, Leisure services or related field and 4-6 yrs of responsible supervisory and administrative experience in the parks and recreation field is required. CLP is preferred. Salary range is 42,000-63,00 commensurate w/ experience. Clarke County offers a full package of benefits incl. health, dental, retirement and life insurance.
