Clinic will be open July 10
The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local operation of the Fauquier Free Clinic Inc., is currently open on the first, third and fifth Wednesdays of each month. The clinic will be open Wednesday, July 10 and not again until July 17. Normally the clinic would be open July 3, however, due to the holiday, it has moved forward one week. Patient registration is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Public Health Department Building. For information call 347-0394.
Ragged Mountain activities set
The following activities are scheduled through Ragged Mountain Resource Center. For more information call Director Hunt Harris at 987-3366.
“Second Saturday” hikes to trails in the Shenandoah National Park along upper Rappahannock River tributaries on Saturday, July 13, and Saturday, Aug. 10. Those attending should meet between 8 and 8:30 a.m. at Mountainside Market on US 211 west of Sperryville and caravan from there to trailheads. Bring nourishment for self, especially water, and layered clothing according to the weather of the day (extra socks recommended). Return is usually mid-afternoon. July 13: Nicholson Hollow-Hughes River and Aug. 10: White Oak Canyon-Robinson River.
Anyone interested in helping co-ordinate other programs, especially biking, climbing and canoe/kayak trips, either this summer or into the fall and winter, is welcome to contact Ragged Mountain Resource Center Director Hunt Harris at 987-3366.
